Talking with Bea Rubio and Álvaro Puerma

Charlando con Bea Rubio y Álvaro Puerma

At the beginning of 2025, we had the privilege of welcoming our beloved obstacle race ambassadors Beatriz Rubio and Álvaro Puerma to the Teamergy facilities. An afternoon of camaraderie and closeness to lay the foundations of the new project and to get to know firsthand the infrastructure not only of our brand but the entire industrial fabric of our group of companies.

During the itinerary, we were also able to show them all the new developments in garments and fabrics, but there was also time to chat casually with the elite OCR athletes who granted us an entertaining interview that we leave for you below:

1. What is your favorite obstacle in OCRs?

Bea: "anyone that involves something technically complicated, that is a little long, with grip, that maybe you have to set to 0 degrees, 90 degrees, extension..."

Álvaro: "weaver and the low combos, very low..."

2. What is the most complex race you have participated in?

Bea and Alvaro: "Poseidón Race."

3. Teamergy's favorite gear.

Bea: "without a doubt, pro fabric t-shirts."

Álvaro: "pro fabric tank top, yes."

4. How did you start in the world of OCRs?

Bea: "I started three and a half years ago, and I was motivated to meet Álvaro, because I fell in love with obstacle races and with him. He became my coach and well, it all started at Mikes Gym and continues at Mikes Gym."

Álvaro: "well, I came from the world of climbing, I liked to run to stay light in it, and well, I was told that there was a type of race that involved overcoming obstacles and that's how I started with one and then another until I got hooked."

5. Goals for 2025?

Álvaro as Bea's coach: "European podium and world podium without a doubt."

6. Any advice for beginners in obstacle races?

Bea: "well, my advice is not to give up, that they are going to fall a lot of times, and that each time they will fall a little less. This is addictive and it's a bit like life, it's about overcoming obstacles in the most efficient way, and that's it, overcoming."

Álvaro: "keep going, keep going, keep going, don't get frustrated, take it one by one, step by step, don't skip anything, and want to improve day by day."

7. What other sports would you have pursued if it weren't for obstacle races?

Bea: "without a doubt, athletics has been my passion since I was little, but nowadays I love the mountains and would do trail running."

Álvaro: "climbing and mountain biking without a doubt, mountain sports."

8. A dream to fulfill?

Bea: "my 2024 has fulfilled some dreams, so my dream is to be able to keep training every day and enjoying this sport as I have done so far."

Álvaro: "to become a champion, to get to the top of the podium at the national and European level at least."

9. What does it mean for you to be ambassadors of Teamergy?

Bea: "for me, it means many values, since Teamergy was one of the first brands that trusted us three years ago when I was starting, and it's something very special for me to continue here, because we have seen the growth and we are also growing with the brand. Super proud and happy to be here."

Álvaro: "for me, it's an opportunity to grow as athletes and to see the brand grow as well, evolving in one way or another in all sports, not just in OCR."

Now that you know more about the athletes, you also have the opportunity to enjoy the full interview on our social media.
